We moved to Atlanta two weeks before the Summer Olympics began there in 1996. I can still hear the roar of the crowd when the procession of the torch passed within a mile or so of our house. What an exciting time that was.

Fast forward by almost exactly 20 years and we’ll be in Carcassonne when the Tour de France passes through on July 13. Next year the race starts at Mont St. Michel and will include a climb to the highest mountain in France, Mont Blanc.

We understand that since the racers are traveling so quickly, if you blink you’ll miss them, but we’re hoping that since the Stage for that day starts in town, we’ll have a good chance for photos. Exciting times again!
